Sep 2007 - Jul 2011
Law Degree & Legal Practice Course
University of
Leeds
BPP
University
Leeds, UK
I attended the University of Leeds from 2007 to 2010, gradutaing with a 2:1
Law
LLB
degree (17th of ~220 students).
I then completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) post-graduate
diploma
at
the BPP University where I was awarded a Distinction. Modules I took during the LPC
included
Business Law
and Practice
and
Intellectual Property Law.
Jul 2011 - Oct 2015
Legal Executive
Squire Patton
Boggs
Gordons LLP
Leeds, UK
After my Law degree and LPC, I became a Legal Executive in Banking and
Financial Services Law. I initially worked at Squire Patton Boggs, a large
international
firm, and later at Yorkshire-based firm Gordons LLP in 2013.
I progressed from supporting a team of 7 on banking transactions to managing
my own caseload of
corporate property finance deals. The role required managing high workloads, meeting tight
deadlines, and handling unexpected
issues with initiative — experience that strengthened my ability to work
effectively and positively in high-pressure environments
Oct 2015 - Feb 2016
Designer, Graduate Scheme
KPMG LLP
Leeds, UK
I retrained as a Designer via KPMG’s graduate scheme. My
move
from law was driven by an ambition to work in a more creative, less prescriptive industry
with greater
opportunity for learning and growth.
I first joined the KPMG Learning Academy as an Instructional Designer, where
I gained
experience designing online learning platforms and courses. This included:
- Liaising with stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Writing course content
- Designing user interactions
Feb 2016 - Aug 2020
UX Designer & Senior UX Designer
KPMG LLP
Leeds, UK
After my rotation as an Instructional Designer, I joined a new KPMG team to
train specifically as a UX/Product Designer, working for 5 years in a small team to design
and develop a dashboard product to help clients improve their customers' experience based
on
data and NPS scores. I was also responsible for coding the front-end
to
implement my designs and I loved the balance of design and technical elements in this
role.
During my time at KPMG I was able to rapidly expand my design skills and was promoted to
Senior UX designer in 2018, where I was the lead designer on client projects. My role was
varied
and included a combination of product design for the core platform, designing bespoke
client implementations, and coding the front end of those client
dashboards.
I gained valuable experience in:
- End-to-end design, including high fidelity, interactive prototyping, responsive design
- Dashboard and data visualisation design
- Micro-interactions, infographics and UI design
- Stakeholder and client management, including requirements gathering at scoping
sessions and
acting as a point of contact through the implementation and BAU phases
- HTML and CSS (primarily using LESS)
- Front-end coding: HTML, CSS (LESS), jQuery, basic JavaScript
- Data visualisation coding using C#, Highcharts and JavaScript
Whilst in this role, my achievements included designing and building a number of
dashboards for household-name brands in the energy, airline and financial
sectors and
working with a small team of 3 to redesign the core product, including leading a redesign
of our
reporting feature.

UX/UI Designer
GreenPowerMonitor,
DNV
GL
Barcelona
I relocated to Barcelona in August 2020 where I worked for 3 months at
GreenPowerMonitor as a UX/UI
Designer.
As UX/UI Designer for 3 development teams, I worked closely with product owners to design
new components
and features for a market-leading renewable energy monitoring platform.
My responsibilities included:
- Working with product owners to define user stories
- Gathering requirements from stakeholders
- Creating designs from early concepts to polished prototypes
- Testing assumptions, articulating design decisions and iterating based on feedback
- Conducting heuristic evaluaations of existing components and features
Dec 2020 - Nov 2022
Product Designer
Global App
Testing
Remote from
Barcelona
I worked for a start-up offering crowd-sourced QA
testing. With the Head of Product I designed an MVP SaaS platform to document and track
bugs found by our crowd QA testers,
testing and iterating on it until it became a saleable product.
My focus
was on empowering engineering teams to improve the efficiency of their QA workflows
through our platform, whilst keeping the UI simple, uncluttered and appealing
to
a technical user base. I worked in a continuous discovery cycle — customer interviews,
research, and solution
exploration.
I helped establish a design system based on these principles and also led a full redesign
project of the QA tester side of the platform, which included conducting
interviews and
workshops with testers
to better understand their workflows and contexts.

Lead Product Designer
Vaayu
Remote from
Barcelona
As the sole product designer, I was responsible for the end-to-end design of a
carbon-emissions tracking tool focused on helping retailers measure and reduce their
carbon
impact. My role centred on designing dashboards and data visualisations that could distil
vast,
complex datasets into something comprehensive and actionable.
The data underpinning the tool spanned entire product lifecycles — from raw
materials and factory emissions, through operations and logistics, to the final delivery
emissions. I had
to
quickly develop a strong understanding of both the data and the methodologies in order to
design
visualisations that were clear and meaningful to end users and supported their
decision-making processes.
Alongside the main emissions-tracking features and visualisations, I designed a tool that
allowed users to model hypothetical changes and see projected impacts on emissions. The
focus of this tool was to support businesses in modelling and communicating changes to
their own stakeholders which
would allow them to define and commit to targets in line with the
Science-Based Targets Initiative.
The role was broad, spanning discovery through delivery, and relied on close collaboration
with climate scientists and industry experts alongside our team of developers,
researchers, and the product manager to
explore and find usable solutions to complex problems.
Mar 2024 - Now
Senior Product Designer
Knack
Remote from
Barcelona
At Knack, a no-code platform that lets users build custom web applications, I co-led the
redesign of the entire platform. This
included driving
the Live App redesign (the end product built by our no-code users), and supporting another
designer on restructuring and rebuilding the UI of the Builder interface.
As part of this I have
maintained and expanded upon an existing design system, and
scaled it
to accommodate multiple themes, presets and elements for our customers' Live Apps.
I collaborate closely with a small product
team,
contributing not only to product design but also to growth design (improving onboarding
flows, signup
experiences, and features like custom domains). Recently designed a new AI feature from
scratch which helps users build Live Apps faster and manage their often-complex databases
within
Knack.
This is
one of the most complex tools I’ve worked on; I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of working
with
engineers and product managers to solve difficult user problems across a very varied user
base,
whose use cases
and technical abilities differ widely.
